LOG 03012026...

Hey, stranger. Welcome to my message in a bottle.

If you're reading this, if anyone is, this is  a selection of my work that is particularly important to me, enough to show to people I've never really met pixel by pixel. I call myself a multimedia artist, and a writer, mostly because I never learned a better word for it and it doesn't particularly trouble me enough to start searching now. There are better things to look for.

Everyone finds something different here. What will you give? What will you take?

Enjoy your stay in  MATERIAL DYSTOPIA.

Catch it while you can.

THE COLLECTION OF EVERYTHING I MAKE

Within my work, listed under either the handle “orrionnge” or MATERIAL DYSTOPIA, I’m really taken by this idea of the natural coming back into itself — having the kind of art you make with your hands displayed in cracked brick or concrete cities. I like the idea of involving people in art by taking art into the public, rather than trying to gather an audience. My kind of performance art. My current project, The Oracle, is a two-parter, with a digital component and a material component interwoven into it. Inspired in both name and concept by the Oracle at Delphi, this project is my way of getting people to interact with their own fates. The digital component is a site that allows a question to be posed to The Oracle, and in turn The Oracle will send back a clear yet cryptic response. Hidden around various cities is the physical component — prints of my original artwork with their locations tagged on the site, all with their own written fortunes, fates, and futures. Sometimes I think about the way I work with watercolors and ink, the way it moves all on its own -- even though it also moves with me. I believe poetry happens to me. If you don't chase your dreams, then what's the point? Life is just a game we play together. Try to enjoy it. - G

THE TRADITIONAL

The works here display a wide range of materials, from watercolor to shards of glass. I have a strange obsession with eyes, and it joins with a love of the otherworldly to create projects like THE ORACLE. My specialities at the moment are in the worlds of acrylic ink, oil pastels, and charcoals -- I always like something that forces me to think a little differently. That shows me how to let go.

THE DIGITAL

the digital

Bold colors, twisted shapes, and the thrill of painting everything in a certain light. This is where you find the band posters, the album covers, and all the little things in between. This is also where I feature the graphics created for my digital magazine, found online and on Substack as LOVE EXPOSURE (@orrionnge), with all original photos, writing, and creative direction. Everything here is ME and MINE and just as multimedia as everything else I make. A collection of everything. Go on, dive in a little deeper.
